Actually I don’t think the large turnout was due to blogs and tweets — my sense (though I could be wrong!) was that the larger portion of the audience was actually the Fianna Fail faithful and this was what a couple of the blogging contingent mentioned to me afterwards — and as I recall many of the questions were from people with some connection to FF (I’ve got the whole session on a podcasts if anyone is interested and wants to listen, at http://www.techno-culture.com/podcasts). They (FF) sent out invites to a large number of FF connected people as well as mainstream media.
